Solar Powered Bhuddha - Pluderphonica
Solar Powered Buddha returns with his idiosyncratic, hynagogic dreamscapes; this time powered by some primitive-tek 'glitch-generator; which seem to scan a plethora of Japanese-related source audio and re-arranged / re-layer it as if your CD / brain player is skipping through time - but totally in sync. One of those effects you're gonna have to hear to fully get; word's aren't really gonna do it justice in this instance. SPB teases us with glimmers of melancholic, introspection and beauty, but timeshifts it into a chaotic, tenterhook-laden exercise in ego-loss, mindfulness and source consciousness. Taking the Eastern audio data and placing it in an entirely new context. The result is a blissfully enveloping record which although might be slightly challenging to the less intrepid listener, will reward the more adventurous listener with its totally unique take on future ambience and hi-tek found sound. Top stuff as always from this Wigan legend, with SPB also donating all profits of the album to charity. Recommended.
